Laura Shields is the office manager for Shields Engineering, LLC. She operates the office, communicates with vendors, performs database management tasks, analyzes data, conducts library research, makes travel arrangements, and she assists with communication and marketing. She is bookkeeper for the office, and works with the accountants.

Laura received her bachelor of arts degree in Psychology from Harding University. While at Harding University, Laura studied abroad in Greece for a semester and traveled to Israel, Egypt, and Greece.

After graduating from Harding in 2008, Laura took additional courses in paralegal studies at the University of Mississippi, which aided her in helping to setup the Shields Engineering, LLC business. She has taken technology based courses at Northwest Mississippi Community College, and she continues to take online courses and attend seminars to grow her skill set while she works at Shields Engineering,LLC. She was a member of the Ole Miss Toastmasters Club from 2013 to 2018 where she served as club treasurer, improved her public speaking, and leadership skills.

When Laura is not working, she enjoys hiking, reading, writing, and running. She likes to do service projects with her local church and maintains the church's facebook page, facebook group, and updates the news section of the church website regularly. She likes to volunteer and has volunteered with various organizations around Oxford, MS such as the American Red Cross, Volunteer Oxford, and most recently the Lafayette County and Oxford Public Library. She also enjoys taking private art lessons in Water Valley, MS with local artist Hannah McCormick and has started her own art business.
